Welcome to the second edition of The Phoenix Society News! To our returning readers, it’s wonderful to have you back. And to those joining us for the first time, a very warm welcome to the Society.

If you haven’t already, join The Phoenix Society and unlock your backstage pass to my debut book. You’ll get an intimate window into the life of a poet, exclusive sneak peeks at upcoming projects, and—most exciting of all—access to never-before-seen poems.

From Pen to Print!

If you had asked me four years ago whether I ever saw my work being published, I would have laughed and said, “No way.”

That refusal wasn’t arrogance—it was fear. Fear that my words weren’t good enough. Fear that my work was amateur. Fear that no one would ever read it.

But as Friedrich Nietzsche once wrote, “Man is something that shall be overcome. What have you done to overcome him?”

Over the years, from scattered scribbles to fully formed poems, I discovered a confidence in my artistry and a belief in my own worthiness. I realised that poetry is a form of art unbound by expectation—a free agent, bending and shaping itself into the vision of its creator. And in that freedom, I found my voice.

My debut book is my finest work yet—a collection of poems born freely, without pressure or expectation. Each piece is a fragment of my heart, a glimpse into thoughts and emotions that demanded to be expressed. This is a space where vulnerability meets art, where honesty flows and imagination takes flight.

To every writer out there, fiction or non-fiction, hesitant to take the leap and share your work: remember this—you are talented, you are worthy, and your words deserve to be seen by the world.

An ode to ‘Olympia Publishers’.

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to the incredible team at Olympia Publishers and to my production coordinator, Amy Cross, for believing in my work and bringing my “baby” to life. Your dedication and support have made this journey truly unforgettable.

Completely unrelated to poetry, but for all the Harry Potter fans out there… I simply have to show you my favourite piece of merch!

Truly magical, right? I picked it up in a souvenir shop while visiting Bath. It’s called Beats of Bath, for anyone interested in browsing their Harry Potter merchandise.

What do you make of the HBO series? Are you excited, or do you have any concerns? And what are your thoughts on the cast?

Right, back to all things poetry.

To close the second edition of The Phoenix Society News, I thought a sneak peek into my debut poetry book was well deserved.

The collection contains 120 poems, and the opening piece is titled ‘Desolate Land’. Here’s a quote from it: ‘The night silences the sunlight and the wolves hunt butterflies.’

And there you have it—a little glimpse into the collection.

Until next time, my dearest readers,
Erem Sahintepe
